May 19th to 21st, 2017 at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel
Dear Delegates, Teachers, Chaperones, and Parents,
It is our absolute pleasure to invite you to the sixth session of Canada International Model United Nations. Since its inception in 2012, CAIMUN has lived up to its reputation as the fastest growing conference in Canada as well as one of the most innovative in the world. Over the course of the past year, the Secretariat and Staff have been working diligently to provide you with some of the most creative ideas never before witnessed in Model UN. With over 600 attendees this year, we welcome you to join us at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel in beautiful Downtown Vancouver, from May 19th to May 21st. This year, we have curated a set of 16 of the most unique and diversified committees so that any delegate, regardless or experience or skill level, will be able to challenge and enjoy themselves here at CAIMUN 2017. Through innovative technologies such as IPC’s integration with the CAI-Forum and exciting crisis activities, we are excited for what lies ahead over the three days of our conference.
Furthermore, we extended our pledge to accessibility for all students no matter their socioeconomic background, and have offered extensive financial aid to qualified registrants. It is our duty and mission to ensure that financial and logistical barriers never hinder our delegates from attending CAIMUN and gaining the Model United Nations experience. It is our goal to become one of the most accessible Model UN conferences in the nation while maintaining our world-class conference experience. This year, we plan to expand our school outreach to several new schools in Canada and beyond, keeping up with our tradition of encouraging and engaging students in Model UN from around the world.
Finally, we would like to encourage delegates to relax and have fun. Regardless of whether you are here to compete as a seasoned delegate or stumbling upon MUN for the very first time, we hope that you will meet new people and take away lasting friendships and memories. In our eyes, it is this aspect of MUN that makes it truly worthwhile.
